Dumont's Lindsey Gray

Dumont’s Lindsey Gray fired a complete game three-hitter Saturday to help lead No. 21 Dumont past No. 12 Pascack Hills.

DUMONT 8, PASCACK HILLS 1 (at Pascack Hills): Fueled by Lindsey Gray’s complete game three-hitter and two RBI at bat, 21st-seeded Dumont upset No. 12 Pascack Hills, 8-1, in the first round of the Bergen County tournament. Paige Godlewski homered and drove in two, Jennifer Sweeney doubled and added one RBI and Courtney Deloughery provided one RBI. Pascack Hills led, 1-0, after two innings, before the Huskies — the co-Big North American Division champions — answered with eight unanswered runs. Dumont will take on No. 5 Ramsey in the Round of 16. 

Demarest's

Demarest’s Caitlin Rueter, shown above, provided a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the seventh to break an 8-all tie and lead the 22nd-seeded Norsewomen past No. 11 New Milford on Saturday.

DEMAREST 13, NEW MILFORD 8 (at New Milford): The 22nd-seeded Norsewomen continued its hot streak Saturday, upsetting No. 11 New Milford, getting a go-ahead two-run single from Caitlin Rueter in the top of the seventh when the game was tied at 8. The clutch hit scored Victoria Corcoran and Haley Pontillo and put Demarest up for a good in a back-and-forth contest. Rueter finished 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs scored. Demarest struck for five runs in the top of the seventh, getting an RBI walk from Samantha Herbener and two-run single from Jessica Muti following Rueter’s single. Demarest if 8-1 in its last nine games after a 3-7 start.

Mahwah's Danielle I

Mahwah’s Danielle Iacovo fired a complete game, three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts to lead the 13th-seeded Thunderbirds into the Round of 16.

MAHWAH 3, RIDGEFIELD 0 (at Mahwah): The 13th-seeded Thunderbirds, a BCT semifinalist one year ago, got a complete game, three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts from Danielle Iacovo and a double and two RBI from Olivia Bell. Iacovo added a double and one RBI for Mahwah, which did all of its offensive damage in a three-run first inning. The T-Birds will meet No. 4 Fair Lawn in Saturday’s Round of 16.

Ramsey's Abby Triglia

Ramsey’s Abby Triglia blasted a three-run home run in the Rams’ 4-1 win over Ramapo in the first round of the BCT on Saturday.

RAMSEY 4, RAMAPO 1 (at Ramsey): Ramsey’s Jess Juhlin went 6.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits with three strikeouts, as the Rams held off 28th-seeded Ramapo. Abby Triglia blasted a three-run home run in the first and Holly Cook (2-for-3) added an insurance run with an RBI single in the sixth after Ramapo had cut the deficit to 3-1 on an RBI single from Alyssa Incantalupo. Ramapo loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the seventh and had the tying run on first base before Ramsey’s Katie Olson came on in relief to record the final out of the game. Fifth-seeded Ramsey, a BCT quarterfinalist one year ago, will take on No. 21 Dumont in the Round of 16 on Saturday.

Ridgewood

No. 8 Ridgewood advanced to the Round of 16 after a 10-0 win over Becton, getting a complete game, one-hit shutout from Nicole Parks. She struck out 15.

RIDGEWOOD 10, BECTON 0 (at Ridgewood): Ridgewood’s Nicole Parks fired a complete game one-hitter with 15 strikeouts and no walks to lead the Maroons into the Round of 16, where they will meet No. 9 Paramus. Parks, Lindsay Gray and Emilie Morse all drove in two runs. Parks capped a perfect 5-0 week for Ridgewood, which included an eight-inning no-hitter vs. Paramus on Monday, a perfect game against Bergenfield, a two-hit shutout against Paramus Catholic and a three-hitter against Fair Lawn. For the week, she struck out 57 and did not issue a walk, while also batting .563 (9-for-16) with one home run, two doubles and five RBI.

Para

Paramus’ Kelsey Settecasi had two hits, two runs and four steals in a 4-1 win over Glen Rock to lead the 9th-seeded Spartans into the Round of 16.

PARAMUS 4, GLEN ROCK 1 (at Paramus): Junior Kelsey Settecasi went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and four steals and senior pitcher Tori Petruzzella fired a two-hitter with seven strikeouts, allowing no earned runs. Paramus will get a rematch with Ridgewood in the Round of 16, after going eight innings with the Maroons last Monday in a 1-0 loss.

Pascack Valley's Alex Pleasic went

Pascack Valley’s Alex Pleasic fired a five-inning one-hit shutout in the Indians’ 12-0 win over Hackensack in the first round of the BCT.

PASCACK VALLEY 12, HACKENSACK 0 (at Pascack Valley): Sophomore Alex Pleasic fired a five-inning complete game, allowing one hit with eight strikeouts, and also drove in four runs. Olivia Beattie blasted a three-run home run and Caroline Savianeso, Jenny Schneider, Carly Comito and Pleasic all had two hits. The Indians got some revenge on Hackensack on Saturday, after falling to the Comets, 8-7, earlier this season. No. 10 Pascack Valley will meet No. 7 Saddle Brook in Saturday’s Round of 16.

Immaculate Conception

Immaculate Conception’s Sarah Piening fired a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in the Blue Wolves’ 3-0 BCT opening round win over Lodi.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION 3, LODI 0 (at IC): Sophomore Sarah Piening tossed a complete game, three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts, while freshman Ali Moran went 2-for-3, with a double and RBI single in the fifth to put IC ahead, 2-0. Nikki Kupersmith went 2-for-2 with an RBI sac fly in the fifth to put IC up three and also scored the Blue Wolves’ first run of the game in the fourth on an error.  No. 3 Immaculate Conception will take on No. 14 Rutherford in Saturday’s Round of 16.

Saddle Brook senior shortstop Lorena Alvarez picked up two hits in Saturday’s 15-0 win over North Arlington in the first round of the BCT, becoming the program’s all-time leader in hits, with 175.

SADDLE BROOK 15, NORTH ARLINGTON 0 (at Saddle Brook): Senior catcher Katie Garbarino went 3-for-3 with a three-run home run in the first to give the Falcons a quick 3-0 lead. She followed that with a two-run single in the third and RBI single in the fourth, finishing with six RBIs. Senior shortstop Lorena Alvarez went 2-for-3 with three runs and became Saddle Brook’s all-time leader in hits with 175, breaking 2012 graduate Melissa Phelan’s previous record of 174. Darian Kraeuter went 2-for-3 with an RBI sac fly in the first, RBI single in the second and two-run home run in the fourth, finishing with four RBI. No. 7 Saddle Brook will meet No. 10 Pascack Valley in Saturday’s Round of 16.

Fair Lawn's Sam Co

Fair Lawn’s Sam Colca had three hits, including a two-run home run, in the Cutters’ 11-0 win over Tenafly in the first round of the BCT on Saturday.

FAIR LAWN 11, TENAFLY 0 (at Fair Lawn): Fair Lawn’s Sam Colca went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run to end the game in the fifth. Brittany Meerholz fired a five-inning one-hitter and added two RBI at bat, while Nicole Hegybeli, Keana Rehrer and Danielle Sibilio all added one RBI. The fourth-seeded Cutters will meet No. 13 Mahwah in Saturday’s Round of 16.

RUTHERFORD 11, RIVER DELL 7 (at Rutherford): In a game that featured five lead changes between the third and fifth innings, No. 14 Rutherford moved past No. 19 River Dell, getting a triple, home run and five RBI from Katie Walsh. Meghan Whitney added two RBI and Katie O’Sullivan doubled twice and drove in one. Kristen Wernicki added one RBI for Rutherford, who will meet No. 3 Immaculate Conception in the Round of 16.

McGuire2

IHA’s Angelina McGuire homered, drove in four, and recorded her 100th career hit in Friday’s night BCT opening round win over Hasbrouck Heights.

IMMACULATE HEART 16, HASBROUCK HEIGHTS 1 (at IHA): Angelina McGuire homered and drove in four runs and picked up career hit No. 100 with a third-inning single. Rachel Pollard and Jaina Sharma each added two RBI. IHA will take on the winner of No. 15 Paramus Catholic/No. 18 Lyndhurst in Saturday’s Round of 16.
