The state tournament brackets are set. North Jersey has 18 teams scattered throughout three tournaments, headlined by Glen Rock and Don Bosco receiving No. 2 seeds in Public B and Non-Public, respectively.
Nine North Jersey teams qualified for the Public B tournament, including five of the top six seeds — Glen Rock (2), Lakeland (3), Ramsey (4), Indian Hills (5) and Mahwah (6). And with Kinnelon — 7-11-3 at the cutoff but receiving an at-large bid — receiving the No. 8 seed, North Jersey is home to six of the top eight seeds in Public B. Wayne Valley, making its first state tournament appearance since 2011, received the No. 28 seed and will meet Big North Liberty rival Indian Hills in the first round.
Ridgewood is North Jersey’s highest seed in Public A, receiving the No. 11 seed. Tenafly/Cresskill, 9-11-3 at the cutoff, received one of three at-large bids from the committee and was seeded 27th.
Frisch, the all-Jewish yeshiva program in its inaugural season finished the regular season at 6-4-2 and opted to enter the tournament. The Cougars were seeded 22nd in the Non-Public bracket and will meet No. 11 St. Joseph (Montvale) in the first round.
First-round action begins Tuesday. All three state semifinals will be March 2-3 at Mennen Arena. The finals will be March 7 at Prudential Center.
