Unbeaten Don Bosco, No. 2 in The Record Top 25, won Thursday’s marquee matchup of North Jersey teams with a 58-47 home victory over No. 3 Teaneck.
No. 5 Ramapo also posted a significant victory in Big North interdivisional boys hoops by defeating host and No. 6 St. Joseph in overtime, 69-63.
The wins by Don Bosco and Ramapo, combined with No. 1 Bergen Catholic’s home loss Tuesday to St. Joseph, should give the Bergen Jamboree Committee much to think about. (It certainly gives me something to ponder when I fill out my next Top 25 ballot.)
In the NJIC, Elmwood Park posted the most significant win, remaining unbeaten in the Colonial Division with a 74-71 overtime win over Rutherford that avenged last month’s holiday tournament loss.
