NV/Old Tappan, No. 3 in The Record Top 20, defends its girls volleyball title at the prestigious Northern Valley Invitational on Saturday at NV/Demarest.
Old Tappan is among 16 teams competing in this major early-season challenge that opens at 9 a.m. and is expected to finish by 7 p.m.
Nine teams are ranked in The Record Top 20, including No. 2 Demarest, last year’s runner-up, and No. 5 River Dell, as well as Bridgewater-Raritan, winner of last week’s Clifton Invitational.
There are four pools, with the top two in each advancing to the single-elimination Championship bracket. Below are the pools, and below that standings for the Big North and NJIC, based on results reported to The Record:
