Wrestling: Updated Unofficial Big North and NJIC Standings through Feb. 1

The division races in the Big North and NJIC are coming into focus as three teams clinched their division titles last week and five more clinched at least a tie for their division titles.

River Dell (BN Patriot), which had already clinched a tie for its title last week, and Wayne Valley (BN Independence) each clinched its division title last week. Bergen Catholic, the No. 1 team in The Recordâ€™s North Jersey Top 25, did the same with a thrilling 31-18 victory over rival Don Bosco on Friday.

Clifton (BN Liberty), Paramus (BN Freedom), Old Tappan (BN National), Emerson/Park Ridge (NJIC Div 2) and Pompton Lakes (NJIC Div. 3) all clinched at least a tie for their titles last week.

The two really interesting races are in the Big North Freedom and the NJIC Division 1.

In the NJIC Division 1, Lodi, Becton/Wallington and Glen Rock/Saddle Brook are locked in a battle that could yield a sole champion, a three-way tie or anything in between.

Lodi has beaten Becton which beat Glen Rock which beat Lodi. Lodi needs two wins over Lyndhurst/North Arlington and Leonia/Palisades Park while Becton and Glen Rock each need a win in their final division matches this week to force a three-way tie atop the division at 5-1.

In the Big North, Paramus needs to beat Ridgewood Friday to take sole possession of the title. A win by Ridgewood would create a three-way tie between Paramus, Ridgewood and Hackensack.
