Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn secured its first Bergen Jamboree bid in eight years with today’s 63-56 victory over first-place Wayne Hills in Big North Independence Division boys basketball.

Senior F Chris Moseley scored a team-high 17 and host Fair Lawn (10-4) outscored Wayne Hills (8-6) in the fourth quarter, 26-16, by sinking 16 of its 20 foul shots.

Fair Lawn needed to win seven consecutive games to secure the minimum .650 winning percentage needed to earn an automatic bid heading into Wednesday night’s Jamboree Committee selection and seeding meeting.

“It was a tough game, sloppy at times, but the kids were tight and that was expected, because we haven’t been to the Jamboree [in eight years],” said third-year coach Rich Micallef. “We’re just excited to be in it.”
