Volleyball: News and Big North, NJIC standings

Demarest, ranked No. 3 in The Recordâ€™s North Jersey Top 15, hosts No. 4 Old Tappan today in a girlsâ€™ volleyball match that will decide the Big North National Division title.

Demarest (15-0 overall, 9-0 National) holds a one-game division lead over Old Tappan (12-1, 8-1) thanks to last monthâ€™s 34-32, 25-23 win over its Northern Valley rival. Defending champ Old Tappan must win to gain a share of the crown.

Meanwhile, Paramus repeated as Big North Freedom champ with Tuesdayâ€™s sweep over Hackensack, while Mahwah and Westwood each posted wins to finish in a three-way tie for the Big North Patriot crown with River Dell.
