Kendal George is the new head softball coach at Dumont High School, replacing Rich Wilson, who stepped down in May after 38 seasons at the Huskies helm.

George is a 2004 Dumont graduate where she played center field for the softball team. She also played four years of college softball at Centenary College in Hackettstown.

For the last two seasons George was the junior varsity coach under Wilson, who posted a 442-386 career mark in a five decade diamond career at the Bergen County school with Dumont going 15-10 in 2015, his closeout season.

George, who coaches recreation softball in Dumont and also coached club softball, will welcome back a team that includes four returning junior starters. One of those is pitcher Jennifer Sweeney, a first team Big North Conference American Division selection this past season as a sophomore and a second team all-division pick in the circle as a freshman in 2014.
