Bergen Catholic’s legendary golf coach, Jim Jacobsen ’66, achieved another incredible coaching milestone on Friday afternoon, picking up his 1,000th and 1,001st career victories in his 33-year coaching career at his alma mater, becoming the first golf coach in New Jersey history to ever reach 1,000 wins.
Jacobsen first took over the Bergen Catholic golf program in 1983, and since that time has made the Crusaders into a New Jersey golfing powerhouse program. Under his watch, BC has won 7 Tournament of Champions titles, 5 Non-Public A state championships, 9 Non-Public North A sectional crowns, 12 Bergen County titles, and 25 championships. Jacobsen’s incredible coaching record now stands at 1001-33-1.
